a town of France, department of Tarn, situated on the small River Larn, a tributary of the Agout, at the foot of the Black Mountains, 10 miles S.E. of Castres. It is within the last forty years that this town has acquired its present importance; for previously it was only an obscure village in a barren and thinly peopled country. The town has a Protestant consistorial church; and manufactures of coarse woollen stuffs, moseksins, cloth, paper, &c. Its trade is also considerable, comprising, besides its articles of manufacture, corn, wool, cattle, &c. Pop. 9894.
