Menam-Kong, or Cambodia, a river of Asia, which is supposed to rise in the Chinese province of Yun-nan, near the frontiers of Thibet, and which flows S.E. through a fertile valley till it falls into the Chinese Sea by several mouths. The river is navigable in the province of Yun-nan; and it receives large volumes of water from the neighbouring mountains. In many parts the stream is deep; but in some places it is interrupted by shallows, rocks, and falls. Many flourishing cities are situated on its banks.
