a town of Hungary, in the county of Neutra, is situated on a river of the same name, falling into the March, 48 miles N.N.E. of Presburg. The inhabitants are of the Slavonian race, and in religion they are for the most part Lutherans. There are two churches and a synagogue; manufactories of woollen stuffs, distilleries, sawmills, &c. Miava has also some trade in hemp and flax. Pop. 9800.
