or BITOLLA, a town of European Turkey, capital of a department of the same name, in the province of Macedonia, is situated on the Vestrizza, at the edge of a large plain, 90 miles W.N.W. of Salonika. Most of the commercial intercourse between Albania and the Aegean is carried on through it; and it is the centre of all military operations in Albania, Macedonia, Thessaly, and Bosnia. Pop. 15,000.
