a small town of Hindustan, 25 miles from the left bank of the River Sutlej, 1140 miles N.W. from Calcutta; Lat. 30° 48', Long. 74° 55'. It is only remarkable for a victory gained by the British over a greatly more numerous force of the Sikhs on 18th December 1845.
