in Hindustan, a tract of country in the British province of Sirhind, extending along the left bank of the Sutlej, and containing an area of 780 square miles, with a population of 116,000. It was held by a Patan chief, whom it has recently been found necessary to depose, in consequence of the oppressive and tyrannical character of his government. The town of Mundote is in N.
