Egisdstadt, or Strassburg, a market-town of Transylvania, not far from the Maros. It is the seat of a superintendent and consistory of the Reformed Church, and contains a college, with a library and museum. The manufacture of paper and the cultivation of the vine are carried on here. Pop. 5500.
