a town of Sicily, province of Girgenti, on a river of the same name, 13 miles E. of the town of Girgenti. It stands on a height which is surrounded by fertile and picturesque valleys; and it contains a royal college and a house of refuge. In the neighbourhood large quantities of sulphur are found, in which, as well as in oil and wine, a considerable trade is carried on. Many ancient remains have been found at Naro. Pop. 10,740.
