It is about 90 miles in length from N. to S., by 45 in breadth, and has an area of 2942 square miles. The soil is well watered and highly fertile, producing in abundance rice, millet, maize, pulse, oil-seeds, sugar-cane, indigo, tobacco, and hemp. Pop. 298,736.
