TACANOYA, or Sandalwood, one of the Feejee Islands, in the Pacific Ocean, S. Lat. 17° W. Long. 179°; length, 96 miles; average breadth, 25. Its outline is irregular, and its surface hilly, containing several peaks, one of which, called Corobato, has a height of 2000 feet. Many of the hills are volcanic; and the island is well wooded. The principal product is sandal-wood. Pop. about 15,000.
