a town of Bohemia, circle of Chrudim, stands at the confluence of the Elbe and the Chrudimka, 13 miles S. by W. of Königgrätz. It has a castle surrounded with walls and ditches, an imperial stud, linen factories, copper and iron forges, and a population of 4150.
