a town of Austrian Italy, in the government of Venice and province of Padua, stands on the Brenta Canal, 12 miles S.E. of Padua. It contains a castle, several churches and chapels, and many country houses belonging to the Venetians. Leather and linen are manufactured here. Pop. (1846) 6596.
