a town of Naples, in the province of Basilicata, between the Basiento and the Salandra, 15 miles S. by W. of Matera. It contains several churches, a convent, hospitals, and manufactories of woollen cloth. Pisticcio was nearly destroyed by an earthquake in 1688. Pop. 6200.
