or Pleschen, a town of Prussia, in the province and government of Posen, and 54 miles S.E. of that town. It is not far from the Polish frontier; and has a considerable trade in horses and cattle which come from Poland. There are manufactured here shoes, cloth, tobacco, and potash. Pop. 4955.
