a town of Hungary, in the county, and 15 miles S.W. of Zemplin. It stands on the Bodrog, and contains a once famous but now ruined castle, a large protestant seminary, a Roman Catholic upper school, &c. Cloth is made here, and wine raised in the vicinity. Pop. (1846) 5480.
