a town of Sicily, in the province and 9 miles N.N.W. of Girgenti. It occupies an unhealthy situation, in the neighbourhood of the most considerable sulphur mines in the island. Some trade is carried on in corn and sulphur. The ancient Camicus is supposed to have been situated near this town. Pop. 6000.
