a town of India, in Malwa, 213 miles S. of Agra. It stands at the foot of a ghat, or descent from the highland to the north; but on all other sides it is environed with a rich open country. The walls which formerly surrounded it are now gone; but there are still a bazaar, two caravanserais, and numerous mosques. The trade of the town, which was formerly very great, has now greatly fallen off.
