a town of the Prussian monarchy, province of Silesia, and government and 37 miles N.W. of Liegnitz, at the confluence of the Bober and the Sprottan. It is walled and entered by three gates, and it contains several Protestant and Roman Catholic churches, a court of law, public offices, an hospital, &c. Cotton cloth and hosiery are made here.
