STONY, a market-town of England, in the county and 7 miles N.E. of Buckingham, on the Ouse, which is here crossed by a bridge. It is generally well built of freestone, and contains a parish church with an ancient tower, Wesleyan, Independent, and Baptist chapels, a national school, and several charitable institutions. Many of the people are employed in lace-making. Pop. 1757.
