It spreads over a considerable area, and contains, along with many neat houses, a handsome parish church, Free and United Presbyterian churches, several schools, a library, and a savings bank. Manufactures of needlework, cotton, woollen, and linen cloth are carried on here. Pop. of the parish 2824.
