a market-town of England, Worcestershire, on the Teme, 22 miles N.W. by W. of Worcester, and 133 W.N.W. of London. It contains some good houses; but has on the whole a mean appearance. Here are a parish church, built in 1777, a Baptist chapel, national schools, a savings bank, and mineral-springs of some repute. An extensive trade is carried on in hops, cider, and perry. Pop. 1786.
