a town of Spain, in the province and 24 miles S.W. of Valladolid, on the right bank of the Douro. It has a town-hall, several churches, convents, hospitals, and schools. Many of the people are employed in farming; but there are also in the town fulling-mills, tanneries, and manufactories of coarse cloth. Pop. 4000.
