a town of Spain, Catalonia, in the province and 36 miles N. of Barcelona. It is irregularly built on the slope of a hill, and has narrow streets but several public squares. The principal edifices are the old castle, now used as a prison; the town-hall; cathedral, and several other churches; several convents; and a theatre. Vich has various educational and benevolent institutions; manufactures of soap, bricks, tiles, gloves, woollen and cotton cloth, &c.; and it is celebrated for its sausages. Pop. 10,667.
