a village of England, in the county of Northampton, near the source of the Nen, 4 miles E.S.E. of Daventry. It has an ancient church, partially rebuilt in 1825; places of worship for Wesleyans, Independents, and Roman Catholics; an endowed school, infant school, and some charitable establishments. Here is the central military depot for England, covering a space of 150 acres, and containing large and handsome barracks, storehouses for artillery and small-arms, powder magazines, hospitals, and various workshops. It is garrisoned by a regiment of the line. Weedon is a principal station on the London and North-Western Railway, and the Grand Junction Canal passes through the village.
