P.R.S.\n\nSIR,\n\nRead Feb. 26, 1778.\n\nSome days ago I received the inclosed Journal of the weather, kept by Mr. Barr, for a few of the winter months, at Montreal, with a desire to put it into your hands. I understand that the winter was thought particularly mild. The thermometer was Fahrenheit's graduated 50 degrees below zero. I observe that the wind never blew from the north; nor do I know that it ever blew from that quarter while I was in America.\n\nI have the honour to be, &c.\n\nR. SAUNDERS.\n## FOR DECEMBER, 1776.\n\n| Days of the Month | Thermometer | Snow | Wind | Remarks |\n|------------------|-------------|------|------|---------|\n| | Morning | Evening | Inches | |\n| 14 | +10 | -4 | NE | Clear. |\n| 15 | +2 | +30 | NW | Cloudy, the first fall of snow at night |\n| 16 | +16 | +2 | NW | Clear. |\n| 17 | -4 | +22 | NW | Clear. |\n| 18 | +20 | +8 | NW | Clear, the wind high. |\n| 19 | -2 | at 0 | NW | Calm, a fine calm morning. |\n| 20 | +2 | +20 | a little | NE | Cloudy. |\n| 21 | +24 | +26 | ditto | NE | Cloudy. |\n| 22 | +24 | +14 | ditto | NW | Clear. |\n| 23 | +15 | +12 | NW | Clear. |\n| 24 | +4 | +6 | NW | Clear. |\n| 25 | at 0 | +8 | NW | Clear, and a little wind.
