HUNGARY, a kingdom bounded by the Carpathian mountains, which divide it from Poland, on the north; by Transylvania and Walachia on the east; by the river Drave, which separates it from Sclavonia, on the south; and by Austria and Moravia on the west. It is one continued plain of 300 miles long, and is situated between $16^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $23^\{\backslash circ\}$ of E. lon. and between $45^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $49^\{\backslash circ\}$ of N. lat. It is now subject to the empress queen.
