CEUTA, a city of the kingdom of Fez, in Africa, situated on the south side of the streights of Gibraltar, almost opposite to it: W. long. 6^{\circ} 30', and N. lat. 25^{\circ} 50'. It is a strong fortress, in the possession of the Spaniards.
