New YORK, one of the British colonies in North America, which comprehending the Jerseys, that frequently have the same governor, is situated between $72^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $74^\{\backslash circ\}$ of W. long. and between $41^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $44^\{\backslash circ\}$ of N. lat. bounded by Canada on the north, New England on the east, the American Sea on the south, and Pennsylvania and the country of the Iroquois on the west.
