ABO, a maritime town in Sweden: it is the capital of the province of Finland, and is seated in the gulph of that name, at the mouth of the river Aurajoki. It is a good port; and is the see of a bishop, suffragan of Upland. It has also an university, founded by queen Christina in 1640. It lies 120 miles north-east from Stockholm. E. Long. 21. 28.
