GUADIANA, a large river of Spain, having its source in New Castile, and, passing cross the high mountains, falls down to the lakes called Ojos of Guadiana; from whence it runs to Calatrava, Medellin, Merida, and Badajoz in Estremadura of Spain; and after having run for some time in Alentejo in Portugal, it passes on to separate the kingdom of Algarve from Andalusia, and falls into the bay or gulph of Cadiz between Castro Marino and Agramonte.
