GUADIX, a town of Spain, in the kingdom of Garnada, with a bishop's see. It was taken from the Moors in 1253, who afterwards retook it, but the Spaniards again got possession of it in 1489. It is seated in a fertile country, in W. Long. 2. 12. N. Lat. 37. 5.
