GUAXACA, a province of North America, in New Spain, which is very fertile in wheat, Indian corn, cochineal, and cassia. It is bounded by the gulph of Mexico on the N. and by the south sea on S. It contains mines of gold, silver, and crystal. Guaxaca is the capital town.
