CANDISH, a considerable province of Asia, in the
dominions of the Great Mogul, bounded by Chytor and Malva on the north, Orixa on the east, Decan on the south, and Guzarat on the west. It is populous and rich; and abounds in cotton, rice, and indigo. Bampore is the capital town.
