MIEZA, (anc. geog.), a town of Macedonia, which was anciently called Strymonium, situated near Stagira. Here, Plutarch informs us, the stone seats and shady walks of Aristotle were shown. Of this place was Peucestas, one of Alexander's generals, and therefore furnished Miezaur, (Arrian.)
