MIGDOL, or MAGDOL, (anc. geog.), a place in the Lower Egypt, on this side Pihahiroth, or between it and the Red Sea, towards its extremity. The term denotes a tower or fortress. It is probably the Mogdolom of Herodotus, seeing the Septuagint render it by the same name.
