ORIXA, a kingdom of Indostan, lying on the Gulf of Bengal. It is divided from the ancient kingdom of Golconda, by a ridge of mountains, the end of which runs a little way into the Sea. It is fertile in corn and cattle, and they have several good towns and harbours on the coast; there are also manufactures of different kinds carried on throughout the kingdom. The prince is a Gentoo, who pays to the Great Mogul a tribute to the amount of about 12,000. yearly.
