DARDANUS, Dardanum, or Dardania, in Ancient Geography, a city of the Troad in Mysia, taking its name from Dardanus the founder of the dynasty of Troy. It was a small and unimportant town even during the authentic period of ancient history, and is chiefly memorable as the spot where Sulla and Mithridates met in B.C. 84, to arrange the terms of peace.
