DARES, a Phrygian, who lived during the Trojan war, and wrote the history of it in Greek. This history was extant in the age of Ælian. A Latin translation, which has come down to us, is generally allowed to be spurious, and is attributed by some to Cornelius Nepos. It was first published at Cologne in 1470.
