FRACTION, in Arithmetic and Algebra, a broken part or division of an unit or integer; or a number which stands to a unit in the relation of a part to its whole. Fractions are usually divided into decimal, sexagesimal, and vulgar. See ALGEBRA, and ARITHMETIC.
