or Cumber (Thomas), an eminent divine born at Watham in Kent, in 1645, was educated at Cambridge; created doctor of divinity; and, after several preferments in the church, was made dean of Durham. He was chaplain to Anne princess of Denmark, and to king William and queen Mary. He was author of several works, viz. 1. A scholastical history of the primitive and general use of Liturgies. 2. A Companion to the Altar. 3. A brief discourse upon the offices of baptism, catechism, and confirmation. He died in 1699, aged 55.
