(Ferdinand de), an eminent Spanish poet, of the 16th century, was born at Seville, and principally succeeded in the lyric kind. Besides his poems, he wrote notes on Garcilasso de la Vega, and an account of the war of Cyprus, and the battle of Le-panto, &c.
