Andrea), an excellent Italian painter, was born at Florence in 1329. In his youth he learned sculpture; he was also a poet and an architect. He had a fruitful genius, and his manner resembled that of the other painters of his time. Most of his works are at Pisa. The most admired of them is his picture of the Last Judgment, in which he painted his friends among the blessed, and his foes in hell. He died in 1389.
