Ancient Geography, a town of the Lower Galilee, distant 40 stadia from Gabara; a very strong place, situated on a rock, walled round, and encompassed on all hands with mountains, so as not to be seen but by those who came very near. It was with great difficulty taken by Vespasian, being defended by Josephus, who commanded in it; when taken, it was ordered to be razed.
