It is said to have been called Livias or Libias, in the Greek manner, by Herod, in honour of Livia (Eusebius, Jerome); it was of the same latitude with Jerusalem (Ptolemy); and it is called Julias by Josephus, who always denominates the Livia of Augustus Julia.
