a town of the circle of Brun, in the Austrian province of Moravia. It stands at the junction of the river Taya with the March, and contains 257 houses, with 1473 inhabitants.

a city, the capital of the circle of the same Landshut name, in the government of Reichenbach, in Prussian Silesia. It stands on the river Bober, at its junction with the Zieder. It is fortified, contains two Catholic and one Lutheran church, 496 houses, and 3658 inhabitants. It is one of the great manufacturing places for Silesia linens.

city of the province of the Isar, situated on that river, in the kingdom of Bavaria. It is in a picturesque situation, overlooked by an ancient castle on an eminence. It contains about 600 houses, and 8200 inhabitants. It is the seat of a university, in which are from 600 to 700 pupils, and which possesses a library of 100,000 volumes, and several appropriate institutions for instruction in law, medicine, surgery, midwifery, and the sciences.
