town of the circle of Chrudim, in the Austrian kingdom of Bohemia. It is the seat of Prince Lichtenstein, who has a magnificent palace. It contains 671 houses, and 2671 inhabitants, who are busily employed in manufactures, and produce cotton and linen goods; of the last, especially, some of the best damask table linen. It is celebrated for the bleaching of linen goods of all kinds.
