It extends over 2024 square miles, comprehends six cities, nineteen market-towns, and 39 villages, with 208,950 inhabitants. It is a level and moderately fertile district, watered by the river Bug and its numerous tributary streams. The capital, likewise called Zoczow, is situated between woods and marshes.
