(*ἀναδυόμενη Ἀφροδίτη*), in *Grecian Mythology*, answered to the Sea Venus of the Romans, and described that goddess as rising from the sea. The most celebrated picture in all antiquity was the Aphrodite Anadyomene by Apelles.
