a town and pass of Syria, on the east of Iskanderoun, nine miles from the coast of the Mediterranean. The pass, between mounts Rhosus and Amamus, is supposed to be the Amanides Pyke of Strabo. The town is picturesquely situated near the top of the pass. Pop. about 5000.
