an instrument used by artificers for drawing angles. It consists of two limbs resembling those of a square, but which are moveable on a pivot at the joint in order to adjust it to any angle. The edge of the blade is sometimes curved, to suit the sweep of an arch or vault.

BEVEL-Angle, any angle except a right angle, whether it be acute or obtuse.
